Fall Production: To Kill a Mockingbird Adapted by Christopher Sergel. Based on the novel by Harper Lee.
Based on the novel by Pulitzer Prize winning author Harper Lee, To Kill a Mockingbird boldly portrays a powerful struggle of beliefs among members of a rural Southern town during the Great Depression. A quietly, altruistic attorney named Atticus Finch agrees to take on a case to defend Tom, a poor black laborer who has been accused of taking advantage of a local white girl. Amidst the backdrop of the racially charged trial, Atticus' children and their summer playmate struggle to make sense of a reclusive neighbor, their father's advanced years, and the actions of those who interact with their family.
